About Me
Photography for me has always been a fascinating tool which acts as a time capsule for any particular moment, feeling, and experience and allows these to be re-opened and re-experienced any time the photograph is drawn upon. I love the ability for feelings to be understood across cultures, across genders and ages, and the medium of photography allows me to express these to other and show no matter our backgrounds we all feel and are receptive to similar hurts, loves, joys, and battles.
Previously I studied Child Psychology and worked as a Law Clerk for several years and it wasn’t until I ventured to Asia in 2003 and stumbled across the gallery of Long Thanh that I remembered the joy in capturing human expression. After spending the day with Long Thanh on a shoot in a seaside village I rang up my dad and stated that I wasn’t going to be a Psychologist anymore I wanted to be a Photographer. Why not spend all your days doing what you love! Life is too short!
So after a very successful solo exhibition upon my return to Australia and other subsequent showings following that, the move into photography just flowed. I did attempt to enter the psychology world again but the paths to this were blocked, and magically new paths opened into the world of photography with ease.
I have just completed my two years studying at the Photographic Imaging College in Hawthorn which has been a wonderful experience. I feel very privileged to be able to spend my days “playing” in the world of photography and doing whatever your heart and imagination desire. Working and collaborating with other artists has been the most beneficial tool for my ideas and progress.
Since starting my own business in 2006 I have worked with individuals on personal visions, with companies on corporate visions and businesses alike, and all have been such a pleasure to work with I really feel so blessed to be involved in an industry that I enjoy so much.
I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into my world and hope you can identify, remember, embrace, assimilate with my photographs and my time capsules!
P.S. I get many queries on the business name and it is literally this:-
one perception, one moment, one interpretation.
This was my perception, my moment and my interpretation, and now it is yours.
